Spring Break- Train Ride

We are waiting for the little shuttle to take us over to our train. I like that I don't have to lug all of our luggage to the train. It is the little things that make me happy and the fact that the boys always take a nap on the train. I get to take a nap too! yea!

Crazy mommy got dates mixed up about a fish derby that happens at Lake Cahuilla by our house. I got lucky and asked Uncle Willy to take Jacob fishing. Uncle Willy sent these cute photos via phone of Jacob fishing. Jacob really enjoyed the day with his godfather. I thought they would be out fishing for an hour or two but they spent the entire morning at the lake. My heart was so happy for him. I will get the date right this next time.

Magician Assistant

We were at The Living Desert which had a magic show. Jacob got picked to be an assistant. He was so cute up on the stage. Boy, was his brother and Nicky jealous. They, later in the show got to participate.

I thought that Jacob wouldn't like the snow. When he was about three we went to the snow and he would not even get out of the car because it was too cold.

He loved playing in the snow. I had a great time with him once again. I am so glad I am able to go on these field trips with him and his class.

Christmas 2009

This Christmas was so magical because Aunt Norma & Uncle Bill stayed with us for a week.

Miss Coronna Christmas Party '09

Miss Caronna had a Christmas party at her club house and we were lucky enough to be invited. She had Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at the party. She had photos taken for everyone.

She had several arcade games for the children and a craft area too!

There was a buffet for the adult and one for the children. My favorite was the hosted bar. Mrs. Carrona, you know how to throw a party family style.

Christmas Tree Farm Field Trip

They learned about the different kinds of trees. They even received a starter tree. I kept that twig alive for several months.

We took a ride on a tractor trailer around the tree farm. They had several kinds of fruit trees and farm animals. I really enjoyed trying to figure out what kind of fruit grew on the different trees.

There was a play area which Jacob headed straight for the train. No surprise there!

This Thanksgiving we stay home and invited my friend Brandi and her son Nicky. I was really nice to be home and have leftovers. Nestor did a great job with the turkey. I finally had green bean casserole. It was really yummy! Can you believe I never had green bean casserole before.
I and the boys did really miss Aunt Norma and Uncle Bill but, they are coming out for Christmas.

At Thanksgiving time I always try to take some to think about what I am really thankful for. I would have to say that health and family are what I am most thankful. I feel very happy with the life I live. Being a mother has and is one of the best experiences I enjoy (most of the time).

Sammy really likes transformers, so he is bumblebee from the movie. Daddy painted his face just like the plastic mask. He is so talented. The kids can't wear masks to school.

Buddhist Wedding

Nestor and I were invited to a co-workers wedding. They are Buddhist. I thought it would be very interesting to see a Buddhist wedding and it was very interesting. All the monks came from LA. They arrived about 9AM. After 11PM, they stay seated until the last guest leaves. That could be until late in the evening. They don't even get up to go the restroom. They hold it. Can you imagine! I would pee my pants for sure.

The monks are served by all the guest. They are offered every single dish. This is the pedestal for a big bowl of food. They use their fingers to eat with instead of utensils.

This gentleman made all the flower arrangements by hand. With a needle and thread, he made each arrangement. He told us that he started two days ago. Check out the video clip.

Nestor and the bride!! Don't you love the elaborate details. The ceremony was performed by one monk and now it is time to serve the monks. Then we tried all sorts of food I have never seen or heard of before. It was really cool. Also, people brought staple items for the monks. They live totally on donation by the people.

First Day of School 09

Sammy's first day of Kindergarten. Sammy's teacher is Ms. Dahrman. I will be at the school on Mondays to help in each one of the boys classes. I really love my job.

Our super hero's at downtown Disney. Nestor let the boys get their faces painted and our little boys turned into super hero's. They really loved it and I can't wait to show these photos to them when they are grown men. Lego store was also a big hit and Sammy's newest interest has been discovered. He will play for hours and builds great things to keep him occupied for hours. Nestor also bought a "small" ice cream cone for everyone. The inner child escaped.

Lake Arrowhead

Nestor has customers that have a furniture store in Lake Arrowhead so we took a drive to check it out. It was beautiful and so much cooler. The lake was gorgeous and the smell of pine was great. They even had a park with some kid rides which the boys thought was great. We fed ducks and saw huge fish in the lake. I would really like to come back and stay for a few days on the next road trip.

Laguna Beach

Laguna beach was a really cool. There are a bunch of little coves so feel like you are at a private beach. We had to walk down these steep stairs with all our beach gear. The water is so cold and I really had to keep my eyes on the boys because of the strong undertows. Jacob and Natasha were swept off their feet a couple of times. This was probably one of my favorite beaches. Natasha found several beautiful shells. It was so beautiful and I really like the privacy.

Carnavel Time

Mom had to go on all the rides with my little monkeys because Daddy does not like rides that spin or that are high up in the air. Baby!!! I had fun going on all the rides and remember when I use to make my sister go on rides with me until she would throw up. I'd feed her and back on the rides. Sooo mean!!! It was nice and cool. A good excuse to get out of the desert. Sammy had to have some cotton candy. That's my boy.

Hunnington Beach

One of our many trips to the beach. Hunnington Beach was a favorite with Jacob and Sammy. Jacob caught a sting shark. Daddy and Jacob were fishing from the pier. I sooo enjoyed watching Sammy chase waves and play in the sand.

Our friend Vivian (with the hat) invited the boys and I to see some rockets launch. Her boys whom are in their teens have been into rocket for a long time. I invited my friend Brandi and her son Nickolas to go with us. It was amazing to see small, big, and huge rockets launch. A really big rocket landed in the parking area. Thank goodness it did not hit anything or anyone. It left quite a dent in the earth. I really enjoyed it myself. Love doing things with the boys.

Father's Day

For Father's Day the kids made Daddy homemade cards. Really big cards or pictures which we hang in the garage with all the other artwork. Dad got a shirt and hat that told him "He is the best". We took him out to brunch at the casino. Our kids "love" buffets!!! It was a great day and I got to dress up and go out.

After a Friday night game, the team went out for pizza. Brandi, Cassi, and I drank our pitcher of beer which was well deserved after sweating our booties off. Jacob hit a home run and caught a fly ball. The coach told him "Great Game Jacob!" He our little Jock!!!

Sammy's First Dentist Visit

I was so nervous for Sammy's first dental appointment. I was really dreading trying to get him to cooperate for the dentist. Getting him to brush his teeth is a chore. Guess What? He surprised me and did a great job at the dentist. I never know with him. I did have to promise him that there would be NO SHOTS. I kept my promise. He brushes his teeth better since he has been to the dentist.

Cherry Valley

The parents went to Cherry Valley with their new RV. So we decided to go and visit. There was a little pond to fish from and that kept "all my boys" occupied. There were so many lady bugs to keep Sammy very happy. The boys had a great time and Richard made us a lovely lunch. It was an OK park but it was great to see the parents. It has been really nice seeing them a lot more this year. Looking forward to July- I will make sure my flask is full. LOL!!!

He saw an ambulance next to us and asked daddy to roll the window down so he could say "Hi". So daddy rolled the window down and Sammy was waving his hand at the driver and shouting "Hi". For my birthday I was taken out for brunch. It was really nice to go out as a family. I even got sung to by staff and the kids. So sweet. We went to the top of the casino hotel to show the kids the view and tease Nestor of his fear of heights. Nestor was freakin out when Jacob was standing by the window. The view was great. It was a nice easy day.

We also did the traditional egg dye. I did use crayons to decorate before the dye and I like them very dark. Sammy and Jacob kept asking me if they were done. However, sister I used food coloring and vinegar for the dye. Impressed!!! I also threw away the egg carton. Are we related or what? LOL!!! Jacob just loves wear his Easter hat. I can't wait to show these cute pics of him when he is in his twenties. Sooo Cute!!!

Sammuel's Day with Mom & Dad

I finally got to go to one of Sammy's functions. I had some extra time and went to Home Goods. I freakin was late to the Easter egg hunt and poor Sammyhad to take easter egg donations. Bad Mommy!!! Samuel had a blast and was a happy guy anyways. I had the whole afternoon to kill with Sammy so we went to the Living Desert with Daddy. What a fun day!!!

Dinah Shore

We got free tickets to the Dinah Shore from the First Tee. The First Tee had a booth set up at the Dinah Shore. The boys had fun seeing their coaches and playing the little courses that were set up. We got lots of free goodies and had a blast watching Sammy and Coach Chris doing the "Happy Dance".

Game Day

It is game day and I love watching my little Jacob play ball. He is very focused and he can whack the ball. He hustles to the ball and gives it his all. Sometimes I wish that I had his focus and drive. His coach told him that he did GREAT!!!! I was proud mommy. Sammy is such a good fan. He yells and claps for his brother and the team. It great fun!!

Limo ride to Ruth Chris

Jacob got to ride in a limo to Ruth Chris Steak House. Grandma & Grandpa Larsen and Aunt Norma & Uncle Bill help with their generous donation for the walk-a-thon and Jacob won this prize. Mommy got to ride with Jacob. The kinders were so excited and cute. We were served mini burgers or slider with chips. There was a desert area with a chocolate water fall and you could put strawberries, cookies, marshmallows, and various things to dip with chocolate. The children got to go through the kitchen. There was a huge lobster which the chef showed the kids. They absolutely loved it. I was glad to spend the day with Jacob.

Just Hanging Out

The weather has been cooler than normal. It has been beautiful. I am starting to try and figure out summer plans. In July we are going to Disney World with Tina and her family, Mom & Richard, and Tammy and her family. It should be interesting!!! I am trying to get my business going but I have been so distracted. Nestor is going to help me and we are sure it will take off. We do happen to work very well together. It has been awhile since I have been able to take little time for me but I have. Next year No more Child Care!!!! We will have some additional $$$$. Maybe we can put in the turf in our front yard.

First 5K : Women Running Wild

I knew Nestor would do well. He can mentally push through that is why I asked Nestor to start running with me. I knew he would push me than I would continue on my own. Nes said that he would run another one but not a 10K yet. It was really nice to do this together.

Wow!!!! I did it!!! I was so overcome with emotion after I finished. I was so glad I actually did it. Sammy had been sick so I did not run for the last four days so I was nervous that I might have to walk it. I only stopped once and was so happy with my time and place. I surprised myself. Yes, I will be doing another one and now I will improve my time and place. I like that I set goals against myself. I can't believe how hungry I have been since I started running. Now, I just need to clean up my eating habits.

St. Paddy's Day

I went to Jacob's school for Saint Patricks Day. Of course, I was asked to make cupcakes which I did happily. It was really hard to find green sprinkles of any kind. I busted out the green I use for Christmas. I made Cornbeef and cabbage. It was yummy!!! Aren't they sooo cute!!!!

Snow in Palm Desert CA???

Jacob's school had a snow day at the school. I did not know what to expect maybe a truck full of snow. The kids had a blast. The kinders were so cute to watch flying down the snow slope. There faces were terrified then a hesitate smile. I remember going up to Big Bear and Jacob would not get out of the car because it was too cold. Maybe we will try it next winter. I think I got a sunburn or heatstroke while the kids were playing.

I hate to admit this, my Sammy is a bit like his mother and does not like to be told what to do!! I know, no surprise there. However, I have to pick up my rebellious boy from school. I was beside my side. I did a lot of soul searching and came up with "Choices". Also sometimes an adult will tell you what to do and no choice. This boy really keeps me on my toes. First Tee Ball Game

It was so exciting to watch Jacob play in his first game. It was a big to do!! We had a fly over by the air force and Mr. Gavery did the first pitch for the season. Kids got a hot dog, chips, and soda. There were jumpers and slides. Nestor and Sammy's joined us after golf. It was a fun family day.

Nestor 40th Birthday

Walk-a-thon

Jacob's school had a Walk-a-thon to raise money for the school. So different than the walk-a-thons I use to do for the March of Dimes. Tina, Do you remember the poop out pick up? LOL!!!! Jacob's Birthday

We have been celebrating Jacob's Birthday for a couple of weeks but, today is the official day. I decorated the car for him. I also went to Costco for cupcakes, Which were huge and I ended cutting them in half for his classmates. I also had to put rings on the cupcakes per request of my birthday boy. After school we went to Chucky Cheese to celebrate a little more and Daddy joined us. It was a great day. We got a couple of Wii games for his Birthday. I can't believe my baby is six!!!!

Tee Ball

Jacob really wanted to play baseball and now he is old enough to play tee ball. There are some boys who played last season and are really good. There is also girls on his team which they are called the "TIGERS". Coach Swift works with them on all positions. Jacob is focused and tries very hard. A teammate got smacked in the face with a ball. So glad, it was not Jacob. It is so fun watching Jacob enjoy playing tee ball. I can't wait for Sammy to be in another sport (soccer) and enjoy it.

Birthday Dinner/ Valentines Day

I did a rookie move. We went to our local favorite restaurant on Valentines for Jacob's birthday dinner with Aunt Norma and Uncle Bill. The Crabpot was very busy but, we occupied the boys until we were sat about 20 minutes later. Jacob always get a bucket of clams. "Yes,"I said, "CLAMS". You would think a manager would remember a 5yr. old now, six yr. old ordering them every time we go to the restaurant but, No that would mean a little customer service recognition. OK, I get a little tifted about being a loyal customer and being treated like I am just passing through. Anyways, we had a specialty which they put a pile of mussels, clams, crab legs, sausage, corn, and red potatoes in the middle of the table. It was fun and tasted great. I would really like to return and take Nestor to the Crabpot. I hope they work on their customer recognition and not charge for a scoop of birthday ice cream. We really did enjoy the food and being together. The company was great as usual!!!!

MATCHBOX 20

Nestor is the bomb!!! He got Norma and I second row seats to a sold out show. Norma and I both really like Matchbox 20 and I wanted to go with her to the concert. Uncle Bill rocks because he watched the boys so Norma and I could go to the concert. It was a blast!!! Of course, Norma danced through the entire concert. It was a really great show. Lots of eye contact and intense feelings of truly enjoying what they do. After the concert Norma and I were at the bar (Yea, Yea) and another concert goer said, "Hey, I saw you dancing on the teleprompter" Norma 15 seconds of fame.

Valentines Day for Jacob

They made these cute headbands for Valentines and Jacob wore his for the next few days. It was precious.

I sooo enjoy going to Jacob's school and helping out with all these fun events and holidays. I can't believe I am actually writing about how happy I am at being a Mom. We have friends who are brave enough to take our entire family out to a very nice restaurant. We went to Roy's for dinner and I have to say that "Yea, We can finally go out to a real restaurant and our children behave!!!" I have been waiting for this day!!! Sammy can do it!! Yea, Yea, I went red and short. I needed a change for god sakes. It has taken me awhile to work with short hair but I think I might be catching on. Look for future photo opts.

Living Desert

Mom and Jacob fed the giraffes while I was on "timeout" with Sammy. Sammy was bummed he missed out. Lesson learned.

GOOD CITIZEN AWARD

Jacob was awarded a Good Citizen Award for the month of December. So dad and I went to his award ceremony. It was so cute to see him get his award. He got a sprinkle donut and a juice box. When we sitting outside with his very pretty classmate Alexia, Jacob gave her his jacket because she was cold. My little gentleman was freezing his little but off so daddy gave up his sweatshirt for his boy. Jacob was thrilled to take a picture with his teacher Ms. McDuffie.

URGENT CARE

Yes, this is our second trip to the urgent care with Sammy for stitches. Five stitches in his tiny little thumb. He was going to help daddy put up a race car fan I got for their room. Daddy left his Swiss knife (closed) on the floor as he went to get some more tools. Sam decided to open up the Swiss knife on his own and sliced his thumb. Poor Nestor still feels like crap. Nestor was so frantic that he gave them the wrong health card and the next day I went to give them the correct one and come to find out they do not take the one the kids belong too. So we will have to pay out of our pocket for that visit. Men!!!

No more Bambi

We had to bring back Bambi. As she was growing, Nestor and I notice that she was looking more like a pit bull. We cannot take any chances so we explained this to Jacob and he was cool about it or understood that he would be able to pick out another dog at a later date. It was Sammy that once again surprised me at how upset he was about a puppy (that he seemed to not like) Bambi going back to the pound. Yes, he still brings up Gracie and Bambi. He is sensitive little guy.

Iceskating in the Desert

A iceskating rink just opened up and I decided to take Natasha and Jacob iceskating over Christmas vacation. Samuel was at school so I could focus on Jacob. Natasha was the one who needed the help. She would come at me trying to hold on and I told her, "Don't grap on to me!!"

She told me to get out of her way then. I was laughing and stayed out of her reach. I could not believe that I remember how to iceskate. I was terrified if I fell I would break something or it would take me forever to heal. No falls for me. YEAH!!! Natasha took some dosey. She's young. My little Jacob was so cute pushing that chair all over the ice. At first he could hardly stand up and after a hour he and I were racing across the ice. I had a blast with the kids. I even bought iceskates for Jacob on Ebay. Iceskating will be perfect in the summertime. I feel cooler already.

STAR OF THE WEEK

I have been anxious about Jacob getting picked for "Star of the Week" and of course he gets picked the last week before Christmas vacation. Natasha was going to be in charge of this project and we did have the poster board but time constraints did not let that happen. So I had to deligate to my very creative husband. I got to shop for the supplies and Nestor got to put it together. Of course, I did some finishing touches. I do have to say I am very impressed with our creativity. The project was fantastic!!!!! Jacob got so many compliments on his board.

We had a wonderful Christmas and were very blessed this year. The kids were so excited and really made it a wonderful time for me seeing there happy little faces. The boys got "big wheels" this year. A special thanks to Aunt Norma and Uncle Bill for the amazing presents they got for the entire family. We sooo look forward to their huge box they send every year. You guys really out did yourselves. Nestor and I really appreciate it!!! Thanks to the rest of you that always take the time to remember my children. No matter how small or big it really touches my heart that you remember my family at one of the busiest times of the year. Happy Holidays!!!

Wild Lights 2008

We went to the Living Desert to see the lights for Christmas. It was very beautiful and put me in a very Christmasy mood. I became a member at the Living Desert (zoo) so I got some free passes. We went to one of the shows about some of the animals and the boys really enjoyed themselves. As we were leaving the show area I told the boys we need to hold hands so I would not loose them in the crowd. Sammy took a hold of a women's hands and told her that it was very dark out here. The women looked at me and said, " I love this!!" Sammy let her hand go and told her to be careful. It was precious!!! They have a super huge train display with trains running and grown men as the train masters. We did see a derailment which Jacob enjoyed watching the train master getting the train back on track. After two hours of pushing the boys around the train display my calves and wrists were killing me. What we do for our children. OK, the bailey's and coffee helped me keep going.

Thanksgiving

We had a full house for Thanksgiving and I was so excited to have it at my house this year. I even bought new china for the occasion. The table looked beautiful. Thanks to Aunt Norma for cooking a beautiful dinner with lots of yummy left overs. Of course, Richard was in charge of the 26lbs turkey and he did a beautiful job as well. It was fun playing Scrabble with Mom and Aunt Norma. We have so many reasons to be thankful and of course we missed and thought of the family that were not with us this holiday. Of course we gossiped about all of you. LOL!!

Jacob had a Pow Wow at school. It was a lot of fun. Nestor is so creative. He painted Jacob's face and Jacob's class and the other mommies were so impressed with Nestor's creativity. Natasha had her daddy paint her cheeks for school also. I just love the pic of Jacob in his full indian get up. Isn't he adorable!!!
